A Week with Maisie the Cavapoo

Maisie arrived on a sunny Monday morning, tail wagging so fast we thought she might take off! Her owner Molly dropped her off with a bag full of her favourite toys, her special grain-free kibble, and a very well-written note detailing all of Maisie's quirks and favourite things.
One of the first things we noticed about Maisie was her absolute love of tennis balls. She carries one everywhere — even to her water bowl. It took us a couple of days to convince her that she didn't need it at dinner time!
Morning Walks at Formby Beach
Every morning we took Maisie down to Formby Beach — her absolute happy place. She would bolt across the sand the second her paws touched it, chasing seagulls (unsuccessfully, we're glad to report) and leaping through the waves. The other dog walkers loved her too; she made about fifteen new friends in just one week.
Afternoon Naps and Garden Time
After her morning adventures, Maisie would settle into her favourite spot in the garden — a sunny patch near the rose bush — and have a proper nap. She was the picture of contentment. In the afternoons we'd have shorter garden play sessions, practicing her "sit", "stay", and "paw" commands, all of which she knows perfectly but sometimes chooses to ignore when she spots a squirrel.
Evening Cuddles
Every evening without fail, Maisie would curl up on the sofa and rest her head on whoever's lap was closest. She is the most affectionate dog — a fluffy bundle of unconditional love.
By the end of the week, we were genuinely a little sad to say goodbye. Molly came to collect her and Maisie immediately ran to her — but not before giving us one last lick on the face each. We consider that the highest of compliments.
Maisie, you are always welcome back at Pet Sitters Formby!
